2016: Beginning of New Life

Hi everyone!
*actually, I don't know whether there are people read it or I'm just talking to myself. lol*
However it doesn't matter. It's been long time since the last time I posted some unimportant stuffs here.
I intended to write regularly in this blog and planned to post this on the first month of 2016 as it is one my 2016 resolutions. But see, it is April already. Shame on me 😔

So, flashback to last year. I have gone through so many ups and downs.

The very beginning of 2015, I was still a bit depressed, empty, and might be lost (?) in dealing with the pasts. Sounds stupid right? That time I was fighting so hard, struggling beyond my limits and finally I survived to get out from those terrible conditions by myself. I think all this time I was wrong in valued myself, I thought I was just a not-so-little girl with no power to face this all alone but after I successfully get out from it, it make me realized that I was strong enough to do things I thought I can't. #socheesyyy

There's also one quote from my favorite tv series which I think is very true.
"It hurts but it gets easier everyday, you just have to find a new way to live."
So yeah, it's all about willingness to move, the patience, and how we find the new way to live.

Ok. End of story, I'm not talking about it anymore.

Let's go on..
Then, I got a chance to study in Malaysia for one semester (my fourth semester) as a mobility student in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) which cooporated with my university, Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh. We were there from February 2015 - July 2015 and we indeed got a lot of experiences, got many new international and also Indonesian friends, and many others amazing things which maybe I will write sometime later.

When I was in Malaysia, I applied for Djarum Beasiswa Plus - a scholarship given by Djarum Foundation and also applied for XL Future Leaders Program, a two-year leadership program provided by XL Axiata's CSR. That time when I want to apply, I was like "I will try my best and let Allah decides". My experiences taught me that we have to do our best but don't put expectations too high because once it's not as what you expected you will get disappointed. So, I do my best and keep the 'nothing to lose' mindset. 😂

Applying for Beasiswa Djarum was a bit complicated though since we need to send the hardcopy of the requirements. Can you imagine, I was in Malaysia then how can I send the documents to Indonesia and make sure it will arrived before the deadlines. But, lucky me I have people surround me who are very kindhearted. My mom and my friends helped me to complete all the requirements. Thank you so much! Even saying thank you will never feel enough.

Alhamdulillah, the hardwork has paid off.
Few months after I applied to those programs, I got accepted as Beswan Djarum and XLFL awardee. All praise to Allah. I'm planning to share my stories regarding the selection process of both programs and hope others will get the benefit from it insyaAllah.

So, this is a little piece of my roller-coaster life.
See you!

Love,
Sarah xx
